What Is Salvation?

We Christians speak a lot about salvation. How does salvation come to us? Is it one universal reality that looks and feels the same for everyone, or is it uniquely different for everyone. Or both? Does it come in one sweeping, blinding, fall off of a horse, like Paul, or does it come incrementally like an easy grace, bit by bit? Or both? What results from it? Ecstasy? Pain? A new-found awareness that you sometimes wish you didn’t now have? Or all of the above? What is salvation? Is it a ticket into eternal afterlife pleasure? Is it being forgiven for being the schmuck that you secretly know that you are? We use these words every day or every week, but do we really know what we profess?

Without using someone else’s words, or a scripted formula you may have been taught in church or by someone else, please take careful thought and time, and answer these questions:

What is salvation to you?

How does or did it come to you?

What have been the results of it for you?

Do you see it as a way into heaven, or something else here and now, or both?

What is heaven to you?

Do you feel or experience that you have been changed by it? If yes, how do you know this to be so?

Back In The Saddle Again

Well, I'm back. For some reason, I stopped blogging for a good while. Anyway, I'm here again and I hope to get some others involved in this blog to share thoughts, prayers, opinions, blessings, disagreements, opinions, etc. Please feel free to join in.
